Whether you exercise or not, nutrition is an essential component to healthy living. I don’t love spending hours in the kitchen, nor do I have the time to do so. Because of this, I’m always on the hunt for easy ways to add nutritious snacks or meals to my life. Enter the Green Monster Smoothie, which is quickly becoming an important part of my half marathon training.
- 1 cup almond milk
- 6 ice cubes
- 1/2 cup blackberries
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 2 large handfuls of spinach, rinsed
- 1/2 of a banana
- 2 tsp protein powder
The great thing is that spinach doesn’t change the taste of the smoothie at all, but packs in some great nutrients! This is a perfect breakfast for those on the go in the morning, or a great way to hydrate post-workout! Of course you can throw in whatever fruits you would like!
